With the support of the Olympic Solidarity (OS), another 14 foreign students joined our increasingly popular International Coaching Course (ICC).
April 2 saw the beginning of the spring course of the International Coaching Course (ICC) at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) with 14 foreign students participating.
The International Coaching Course (ICC) is a 3 month non-degree full-time on-site course in English organized by the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS), International Relations Center (IRC) in cooperation with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and supported by the Olympic Solidarity (OS), a department of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
ICC’s popularity is proved by the fact that students in the spring semester include Mehrad Atashi, multiple champion of the Iranian Basketball Super League, Yi-ning Wong, international tennis coaching programme leader and Ang Sok, a member of the Cambodian Olympic Committee's technical committee and coach of the national fencing team.
In addition to the international students, the opening dinner was attended by Dr Csaba Ökrös, Vice-Rector General Affairs, Professor Zsolt Radák, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Dr Habil. Judit Kádár, Head of the International Relations Centre (IRC) and several HUSS teachers and lecturers.
Dr Ökrös indicated that two of the students present were his students, who started the course with great enthusiasm. He expressed the hope that everyone would leave the university with the relevant knowledge by the end of the programme.
The importance of acquired knowledge was also at the heart of Judit Kádár's speech. The IRC’s director stressed that the current course is an extremely important step in the careers of the participants. She also reminded the students that later the university hopes to see them at the BSc and MSc courses in sports coaching and the university’s the Doctoral School. Though she did not promise blood, sweat and tears, she stressed that the course timetable and the amount of material to be covered would be a real challenge for all.
Over the course of the next ten weeks, 14 foreign students will be studying at HUSS as part of the programme. They have come to our university with the recommendation of the National Olympic Committees of 50 countries, including Swaziland, Butane, Grenada, Oman, Maldives, Tanzania, Iran, Uganda and Cambodia.
Good luck to all of them.
