The Erasmus+ students have successfully arrived and started the spring semester at our university, facing an exciting period ahead.
A total of 11 Portuguese, two German, two Spanish, one Turkish and one Italian student joined us, ready to explore the excitement of being a student at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) and the cultural diversity of Hungary.
The university is committed to providing an excellent experience for Erasmus+ students and has organized numerous integrated programs to facilitate communication and integration into the community with English-speaking students from the BA Sport Coaching and MSc Sport Coaching programs. For example, on March 27th, there was an opportunity for informal meetings and the formation of new international friendships during a bowling afternoon.
Carolina Silva, a Portuguese Erasmus student of ours commented her exchange as follows: “I decided to choose this university for my Erasmus because I was very interested in getting to know Budapest and when I researched the various university options, HUSS caught my eye. I am really enjoying attending this university, I have been very well received and the teachers are very approachable and supportive. Without a doubt, without Nóri and Zsombor – colleagues of the International Relations Center - I would not have been able to carry out my Erasmus plan, they are always ready to help with any questions or difficulties. So far, overall, my experience with this university has been good and I am achieving all my goals.”
The outbound side of the Erasmus+ scholarship is also exceptionally high at our university during the spring semester: 19 of our students are participating in university courses or professional internships abroad, including in Romania, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Italy, Norway, Poland, and the United Kingdom.
Ákos Széles, a third-year student of Sports Management BSc, currently completing his professional internship in Bucharest, said the following about his experience abroad: "It has proven to be a very good decision to participate in the Erasmus professional internship mobility. The usefulness of the time spent here is best demonstrated by the fact that I can learn, and experience practical aspects based on the theoretical knowledge I have acquired so far. As sports become increasingly international, I highly recommend that everyone gain experience abroad, but most importantly, build connections."
Zsuzsa Szaszák, currently on her study mobility in Porto, shared her experience abroad: "They organize a lot of programs for us, it's easy to make friends. In our free time, we hike a lot and surf, and almost every day we watch the sunset because it's so beautiful here, you can't get enough of it. I highly recommend everyone to study abroad for half a year and take advantage of the opportunity to live and study in another country with a scholarship. I've been here for a month and a half, but I've already gained so much from this opportunity."
