TF student Levente Józsa wants to win a gold medal at the Olympic Games

TFSE athlete Levente Józsa, a first-year student at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF), member of the Hungarian taekwondo Olympic squad, is preparing hard for the Paris Olypmic Games.

Three Hungarian athletes managed to seal a quota place for the Paris Olympics in taekwondo: Viviana Márton, Gergely Salim Omar and the 21-year-old Levente Józsa, who is currently studying at Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF).

This is going to be his first appearance at the Olympic Games, and hopefully he will have a chance to take part in the Loas Angeles Games as well in 2028.

In an interview made earlier, he said he wants to win a gold medal in Paris.

"Yes, that's what I'm thinking right now, I want to win the Olympics," said Levente Józsa. “There is no point in having a different attitude, but I can't say that I would be second or third. We are professional athletes, we fought to get to the Olympics and we will fight to win. My preparation? This period my weekends are free, but from Monday to Friday I have two or three training sessions a day. This is a sacrifice you have to make."

The 68-kilogramme fighter has to win four matches to win the gold medal. He is preparing for the toughest challenges because he is going to fight against his biggest rival, world’s number one Uzbek athlete.

"If you want to win the Olympics, you have to do it the hardest way, and the winner will win the gold medal because he is the best. Besides there is no easy way, the level of competing athletes is almost homogeneous. I won the Grand Prix final last December and that gave me a huge boost to keep going. It's a lot harder to win that event than the Olympics because the top 16 are fighting at the Grand Prix."

As for his studies, he did well in his first year at TF, completing all practical subjects except to – the missing two simply didn't fit into his time.

"But I will make up for it, of course," added Levente Józsa.

Hopefully as an Olympic champion.
