The Hungarian University of Sport Sciences (HUSS) hosted the International Days (IDIH 2023) between 25 and 27 April. The event was organised by the International Relations Centre (IRC) lead by Dr habil Judit Kádár.
During the three-day programme, you could meet representatives and speakers from renowned universities. The IDIH 2023 provided a platform at HUSS for domestic and international experts to share insights into their work and experiences through talks and roundtable discussions, as well as explore the possibilities of international cooperation as well as projects.
Several of HUSS’s international partners participated in the event including the Serbian Institute of Sports and Sports Medicine, Tesla University in Belgrade, the Tirana Sports University, the New Mexico State University, the Utah State University, the ILEPS University of Sports Sciences in France.
In addition to the delegates from higher education institutions, the Ambassador of the Philippines to Hungary, Frank R. Cimafranca, the President of the Sino-European Institute, Anny Gao, and representing the Sports Diplomacy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Krisztián Baranyai also attended the event.
Several partner meetings were held on Tuesday, and in the early afternoon, the Rector of the University, Professor Tamás Sterbenz received the delegates from foreign universities.
IDIH 2023 continued on Wednesday with a varied and exciting programme. Partner universities presented themselves and several interesting workshops were held. One of the colourful side events of IDIH 2023 was the meeting of the World Leisure Organization (WLO) Youth Ambassadors, hosted by the Department of Recreation of HUSS and Dr Miklós Bánhidi.
The last day was dedicated to presentations and round table discussions. Participants discussed interesting topics such as intercultural classroom, the value of faculty and staff mobility, the use of modern teaching tools and methods in higher education, and the challenges of internationalisation.
