TF’s staff from the Sports Nutrition Science Centre also visits Cologne Sports University

The cooperation between the Doping Prevention Research Centre of the Deutsche Sporthochschule Cologne and the Analytical Laboratory of the Hungarian University of Sports Science’s (TF) Sports Nutrition Science Centre is a real "win-win" situation.

Cologne is not only one of the host cities of the UEFA European Football Championships, but also an important strategic destination for several delegations from Hungarian University of Sports Science (TF).

The visit of TF’s management was closely followed by a meeting of the Director of the Centre for Sport and Nutrition, Dr Margita Szilágyi-Utczás, and her Deputy Head of Laboratory, Dr Zoltán Pálinkás, with the Director of the Institute of Biochemistry of the Deutsche Sporthochschule Cologne, Professor Mario Thevis and his colleague Dr Uta Mareck, thanks to the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility programme.

As a result of the visit, the two laboratories, accredited according to ISO/IEC 17025:2018, will conduct international comparisons between each other for the analysis of doping in food supplements, with similar testing profiles, providing both parties with the necessary proof of competence for their accreditation.

In addition to having the opportunity to visit the departments for testing dietary supplements and conducting preventive research, TF staff were also able to gain an insight into the work of the WADA-accredited laboratory department under the auspices of the Deutsche Sporthochschule in Cologne, where preparations are already in full swing to receive samples for the European Football Championships.
