The film about the Hungarian University of Sports Science’s volunteers, who received the Fair Play Award for their role in the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, has been released.
As reported earlier, the volunteers of the 2023 World Athletics Championships held in Budapest in August were presented with the International Fair Play Award by Balázs Fürjes, Co-chair of the event's organising committee, and Sebastian Coe, President of the World Athletics (WA) in recognition of their dedicated and persistent work.
At the award ceremony, Balázs Németh, CEO of Budapest 2023 Zrt., the organiser of the World Championships, Dr Szilvia Perényi, Director of the WABudapest23 Volunteer Programme and six lucky volunteers received the award from Balázs Fürjes, newly elected Hungarian member of the International Olympic Committee and Sunil Sabharwal, Secretary General of the International Fair Play Committee.
A short film about the work of volunteers has been released featuring how three world stars signed a volunteer's T-shirt, why running the 400m in over three minutes is worth more than running it in 44 seconds, and the real secret of volunteering.
