On 8 June the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) and the Ningbo University in China signed a double agreement. The event was organised by the School of Doctoral Studies of HUSS.
The agreement made between the two higher education institutions was already registered by the Education Office on 1 February this year, but representatives of the partner institution have been able to visit Hungary only now. During their visit, the five-member Chinese delegation came to see several partner universities including HUSS.
From Ningbo University, Vice Rector Professor Haohan Wang, Dean of Faculty of Sports Science Professor Yaodong Gu, Director of Social Science Professor Xinmiao Zhou, Vice-Dean of Faculty of Law Fenna Sun and Vice-Director of International Office Xicun Wu were present.
Our institution was represented by HUSS Rector Professor Tamás Sterbenz, President of the Doctoral Council Professor József Tihanyi, Director of the Centre for Molecular Process Biology, Head of the Doctoral School Professor Zsolt Radák, Vice-Rector General Dr Csaba Ökrös, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Dr Zsombor Lacza and Head of the International Relations Centre Dr habil Judit Kádár.
After the signing ceremony, Professor Haohan Wang praised the education of our university, its almost 100-year history, the Olympic and world champions who graduated from our university and the renowned teachers of HUSS. He then gave a brief introduction to the Chinese institution and its training programme. This included the fact that several members of the Chinese national swimming team study at Ningbo University which was founded in 1986. The head of the Chinese delegation stressed that he would be happy to welcome representatives of our university in China.
Rector Tamás Sterbenz first thanked the participants for the invitation, and then introduced the lecturers representing HUSS. The head of the university emphasized that HUSS is happy to cooperate with its Chinese partner in many areas, including education, doctoral studies, research and sports.
During the informal discussion, the two sides discussed the possibilities of future cooperation. In addition to doctoral training, joint work is expected in the fields of master's degrees in human movement sciences, sports management training, fencing coaching and gerontology, among others.
The event concluded with a tour at the campus.
