HUSS to become an EUSA associated member

The Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) is likely to become an associated member of the European University Sports Association (EUSA). The application for membership will be considered at the EUSA General Assembly in October this year.

The European University Sports Association (EUSA) is an umbrella non-governmental organisation working in the field of university sport in Europe. It has more than 40 members and it organises the European University Games and the European University Championships.

To date, EUSA has only been open to national university sports federations, but thanks to a new initiative, European universities can now join as associate members.

As we learned from the Hungarian University Sports Federation (HUSF), HUSS is also applying to become an associate member. The university's application will be considered at the EUSA General Assembly in October, presumably favourably.

Just a reminder: the current president of HUSF is Professor Lajos Mocsai, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for the University of Physical Education.

HUSS ranked second the 2nd in terms of participation and number of teams on the European Universities Games helnd in Lodz in 2022 and has won 27 medals between 2017 and 2022 at EUSA Championships and Games.

EUSA associate members can join the EUSA Universities Club, university students and delegation members can participate in EUSA events for a reduced entry fee, they have priority in the selection of organisers of EUSA sporting and educational events, and use the EUSA associate member logo to promote the institution.
