On January 26, 2023, Professor John Barnes, Professor at the Department of Sport Administration of the University of New Mexico, arrived at our university. Professor Barnes came to Budapest as part of the Fulbright scholarship program and spends the entire spring semester at the Hungarian University of Sports Science, working for the Sport Management Department.
Our guest is going to teach two elective courses in English during the spring semester. 'Sports in North America' will be available for BSc students and "Leadership and Management" for our MSc students. Dr. Barnes has spent the past week getting to know Budapest, the HUSS campus and its surrounding, with the help of international relations coordinators Gabriella Sztojalovszky and Györgyi Koppa. Then he participated an orientation with other American Fulbright scholars, where Dr. Judit Kádár, director of IR presented on Hungarian higher education. Our guest lecturer has got his office in the Department of Sports Management, where Prof. Gábor Géczi and Andrea Nagy helped him get settled in Room A303. Dr. Barnes looks forward to seeing anyone interested there as well as in his classes on Wednesdays in the spring semester.
