As a result of a successful TEKA grant, Dr habil Martina Uvacsek and research professor Dr habil István Soós participated in the ninth International Society for Physical Activity and Health (ISPAH) conference that took place in Abu Dhabi from 23 to 26 October this year.
The event was also the meeting place for the Active Healthy Kids Global Alliance (AHKGA) Global Matrix 4.0, where representatives from 57 countries were able to share their experiences on how they are proposing local and national support for physical activity among young people aged 6-17 and how to limit their sedentary lifestyles to optimal levels.
Our short report covering 10 indicators on physical activity and sedentary behaviour of Hungarian children was available in poster.
The 56 other countries participating in the international project compared their own data with that of young people in Hungary. School support for promoting physical activity through daily physical education ranked our country highest among the 57 countries compared. This has sparked great interest from researchers looking for international good practice involved in the project.
