Dr Barna used to be the associate professor and the Head of Department of Combat Sports of HUSS between 2003 and 2013.

The results of this major work were published in the world-renowned International Journal of Wrestling Science, which is published in 176 countries in four languages (the UN has 196 members) and is published by the International Wrestling Federation's Scientific Committee (of which Tibor Barna is a member), thus supporting the publication of research on the sport.

The research team also included Gábor Farkas, László Csákvári and Dr Csaba Nyakas.

"Th multifaceted work was carried out by the research group I established at the Department of Combat Sports of HUSS," said Tibor Barna. "Our intellectual leader is Dr Károly Bretz, who still has a razor-sharp brain at the age of ninety-one, and I would like to mention our two students working with us, Marcell Bartáky and Katalin Kántor, who helped and learned a lot during the work we did together. In September, during the World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade, a world conference was held in the Serbian capital, where I reported the results of our research, and my presentation was recently published in print in the world-renowned journal. We investigated how and to what extent the magnetic flux effect of electric current and different frequency modulations can help athletes to recover, enhance short-term performance and heal injuries.”
