The main profile of the lab is to conduct basic research on regular physical activity and professional sport. A major focus is on how regular physical activity and diet can affect molecular pathways in different organ systems. We are also involved in studies of preventive as well as therapeutic treatments on animal models and human subjects.

We work together with numerous Hungarian and other eminent research group around the globe. It is important for us to provide evidence based, up to date information and scientific results for the new generation of sport professionals. Our philosophy is to actively develop sport science, pass on knowledge and open up new horizons for our students in the BsC, MSc or in the PhD programs.

Sport and Innovation Conference

Under the current health regulations that apply in this phase of the COVID pandemic, we kindly ask our guests and participants to present their proof of vaccination at the registration desk of both venues. In case you do not have such a document/card, please make sure to wear a mask at each indoor event. We appreciate your kind collaboration.

You are cordially invited to the 4th Sports and Innovation bilingual conference on innovation and sports, organized by the University of Physical Education of Budapest and the National Handball Academy of Balatonboglar. Our aim is to foster dialogue on recent findings and innovative ideas, methods as well as to stimulate further processes of turning ideas to success.

The latter is of utmost relevance these days in the competitive international arena of sports, especially in the struggle for Olympic performance. Therefore, we wish to invite scholars and other experts from all walks of life and sport activities to share their expertise, good practices, and pursue knowledge transfer. The presenters will offer insight and exchange ideas in the form of presentations, workshops and roundtable discussions with trainers, educators, researchers, business partners and decision makers at all levels. This event is to give special attention to the role of sport in improvement of quality of life through primary prevention, recreation, rehabilitation and regeneration, and to offer pragmatic approaches to sport science and profession, utilizing the facilities and expert opportunities of NEKA, Balatonboglar. Following the conference, an online publication opportunity (Physical Education, Sport, Science (PSS)) is offered for the presenters in English and Hungarian languages.

Date of the event: 15-17 September, 2021. Location: University of Physical Education (Budapest), National Handball Academy (Balatonboglár).

Prior to the conference, we are to host the traditional International Partner Day on UPE Campus, where the representatives of our partner universities are welcome to focused discussions, campus tour as well as meeting the management and the special departments, too. please let us know in advance if you are interested.

The first conference day is on UPE campus, while the second and third are to be organized on the venuse of the National Handball Academy (NEKA) in Balatonboglar, nearby Lake Balaton. Conference participants will receive transportation upon demand (bus ride on second day morning to Balatonboglar and on third day late afternoon to Budapest).

Please indicate in your abstract, along with its alphabetic code, which of the below topics in particular meets the focus of your proposed presentation of 15 minutes. Early expressions of interest are appreciated. Proposals should include:

  • The author’s full name, institutional affiliation, and email address.
  • The title of the presentation.
  • An abstract of a maximum of 350 words, summarizing the paper’s scope and conclusions.
  • A statement indicating whether PowerPoint or other digital media will be used and whether internet access is required for the presentation.
  • A brief "bio" of the author(s) of a maximum of 250 words.

The International Relations Center (IRC) at the Hungarian University of Sports Science (HUSS) plays a pivotal role in advancing the university’s global presence and fostering international cooperation. The IRC is responsible for managing international partnerships, overseeing student and staff mobility programs, and coordinating English-taught academic offerings.

In addition to supporting international academic and research collaborations, the IRC leads the university’s international marketing and branding efforts, with the goal of increasing global visibility, expanding the number of international students and faculty, and promoting short-term training programs such as the International Coaching Course (ICC) and summer schools.

The IRC is also actively involved in international projects and grants, working to position HUSS as a hub of excellence in sports science education and research worldwide.
