# Tamás Sterbenz

Last week, Dr. Tamás Sterbenz, Rector and Dr. Judit Kádár, Director of International Relations have visited Sports University of Tirana (SUT). It was Dr. Tamás Sterbenz's first international trip as a rector, and several relevant discussions fostered our collaboration with our Albanian partner.

Recently the University of Physical Education has hosted a special event organized by the Hungarian Embassy in the Philippines. The University of Physical Education welcomed seventy Philippine students studying in Hungary at this unique “Alumni Event”.

Dr. habil. Tamás Sterbenz ceremoniously received his mandate as rector of the University of Physical Education from President of Hungary János Áder in the Sándor Palace. According to the decision of the President, the appointment of the new rector lasts for 5 years, taking effect from 1st October, 2021.

Dr. Tamás Sterbenz, the newly elected rector of University of Physical Education of Budapest has ambitious plans. In his view, UPE will need to “change gear” and become an influential actor in the field of higher education.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the representatives of the University of Physical Education have participated a one-day visit to fulfill the invitation of the Embassy of Bern and to strengthen the partnership with our new institutional partner, the University of Bern.

As the saying goes in sports, Dr. habil. Tamás Sterbenz, Vice Rector for General Affairs at the University of Physical Education (UPE) had to be away from the pitch for two weeks, but he is back at work now. He is looking forward to a busy period because the National Accreditation Board’s (MAB) accreditation procedure and the development of UPE’s educational programmes give him enough work to do in the near future.

The main organisers of FISU World Forum, the University of Physical Education (UPE), the Hungarian University Sport Federation (HUSF) and the Technology Provider Digital Success Program (DSP) expect different benefits from the Forum. Interview with UPE Vice-Rector, Dr. Tamás Sterbenz and DJP project supervisor, Dr. Levente András Gál.
